My brother is slowly reducing his insulin (novomix) from 10 to 8 in the morning and from 5 to 4 in the evening. In addition he has just started taking metformin (300mgs twice daily) as he is trying to come off the insulin. He started this new regime 4 days ago (on the doctors advice). With the addition of the metformin he is finding his sugars are down to an average of 4.5 before bed (usual levels anywhere between 5.5 - 9.0) which is really worrying him as he is not feeling well at these levels and thinks he might go into hypo overnight. He is now eating before he goes to bed because of this. In your experience do you think this a possibility? Thank you Molly
