Low white blood cells

Hey guys,

I was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after suffering from DKA and ending up in ICU for 6 days :/ While in hospital my white blood cells went from high to very low and the day of being discharged they were 0.5, Today I got results from my white blood cell test 3 weeks later from being discharged from hospital and my doctor said they have went to 3.6 but they are still low. I am wondering has anyone at all suffered from low white blood cells after being diagnosed with Diabetes or DKA as I am worried.
 
Not caused by diabetes but my count went down to 0.2 after taking Azathioprine for some time in fact after a blood test my consultant called me at home by phone on no less than three occasions to stop me taking them and to ensure that I had stopped taking them.

My white blood cell count is now back to normal after a few months so as yours are again rising I am sure in time they will be OK.
