hi folks, I am now showing on my home code free meter around the low 4's in the afternoon .. Low to mid 5's the rest of the day.. Normal befor and after testing times .. Should I worry about a low 4 reading and is this a sign that I am going into T1 ? I feel great .. Lost a shead load of weight and trying not to worry about a couple of 4.1 readings .. But should I be worried ?

That is wonderful, why on earth are you worried? What do you mean by "going into T1"?
There is nothing wrong with low 4's as long as you feel well. Are you on any meds? If so, at your next review you may wish to discuss reducing them.

Only heart med's now ... Just thought if I was low 4 would this be a sign that my beter cells had stopped working .. Just panicked ....
Thanks for the fast reply .. I can breath again now !

If your beta cells were not working then as you would not be producing insulin your levels would be shooting up, not lowering down.

Just enjoy your good glycemic control.

Enclave - If you recall you had a variation on this theme a little while ago, with low readings.

Low readings, even under 4s, are rarely a big warning sign for us T2s. In fact, it is possible it even suggests your beta cells are perking up, in response to your better treatment of them of late. Professor Taylor talks a little about this in his latest presentation.

Provided you feel fine, please stop worrying about low numbers. Be a little more concerned if your seeing under 3 regularly as that's somewhat low for anyone.

You're not stupid, but try not to panic. As T2s we're unlikely to be in any danger from one reading or one day. And if you do regularly see under 3s just eat a bit more to start with.

The secret for many of us T2s a bit of a way into our journey is if we're concerned about something to think it through and if we feel we need to make changes to anything to make those changes small.

You're doing just fine.

@Enclave

Stupid questions are good!:-)

We can answer them and feel good about how clever we are. It's the clever questions that are hard.

Seriously, as others have said, there are no stupid questions.

The stupid thing to do would be not to ask a question, if feeling confused or concerned about something.

You ask, we answer, we feel all smug about it , you are no longer concerned!

A sure win win for all concerned!:-)

Take care of yourself and try to relax a bit, you obviously are well controlled so stop worrying so much.
