desseardo Member Messages 12 Type of diabetes Type 2 Treatment type Tablets (oral) Feb 1, 2016 #1 Hi, doctor took me off 850mg of metformin last week and cut down the dosage of gliclazide down to one tablet of 40mg a day. My Bg is always around 5 to 7, with just once to 8.6. Is this called the honeymoon period?

Feb 1, 2016 #2 The phrase 'honeymoon period' is to the best of my knowledge, usually reserved for T1's but I'm open to being corrected on that. Take a look at this page for more info........ http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-glucose/honeymoon-phase.html
