My thighs are damaged because of insulin injections. In fact, I can't inject Lantus into my thighs because it will be absorbed quickly where in my upper arm it does not (same dose same physical activity same food etc)
Is there anything I can do to heal the injection sites faster? Oils or creams?

Hello @alphabeta Unfortunately as far as I am aware the only thing that helps healing is simply avoiding the areas altogether, have you tried injecting basal into your bum ? This was my favourite place when on injections.

I haven't and I avoid to try so. My right upper arm is okay with Lantus but not the left one because I injected a lot there being right-hand guy so back to right upper arm tonight

Hi @alphabeta Any particular reason why you avoid ? Given that it's a fatty area it works well for basal injections.

I never did it before and I don't know how to... do I need someone to give me the shot?

To be honest it's simply a case of prime your pen and inject straight in, you don't need anyone to help you, also you don't need to pinch because of the fact it's a well padded area, it would certainly give your arms a rest

I might consider this I'm not sure

I have to admit I was apprehensive when I first considered using this area, but it's not hard to do once you get into the habit of it, also not painful, never hit a vessel and it's a good absorption pad for basal, maybe try in front of a mirror first, definitely worth doing though.

I assume you are right. Perhaps it is the first time that is the gardest but then it is piece of cake.
