Hi Guys,

Another question from me.

I've been type 1 for about a year now and I've noticed small lumps under the areas where I inject.. I know to move my sites about and I do, they are nothing drastic - I just worry over time it will get worse.

Can anyone suggest methods to clear them up or reduce them? They get itchy from time to time!

Thanks,

Your right just move your injection site, maybe put a bit of antiseptic ointment on the irritation if its really bugging you, if i get a lump i know ive been injecting in the one spot too often, they are no biggy and clear in a couple of days. Perhaps changing your needles more often may help and keeping the site clean with a antiseptic wipe. If it gets worse i'd have a word with the diabetic nurse but i wouldn't expect it to.

It usually happens if u don't change sites often enough, don't inject where the lumps are as it wont absorb insulin properly

I move my injection sites but can be hard to remember where I've injected. I can't remember who suggested it but what I also do is swap sides each week do this week I am using my right side for both testing and injecting and next week I will use my left side. By doing this I know I'm giving each side at least a week's respite.

I had really big hard lumps on my belly. And tried rotating sites but what I didn't do was change the needle each time. For the last month I've been good and changed it every time..... and the lumps are going down slowly

If ever I have bruised or got itchy reaction or lump with a site shot .
I use a tea tree oil antibacterial blemish stick on area .
Just dab it on and leave it to air dry for a second .
It helps bruising to fade and the itch stops almost immediately .

Had this problem lumps forming aroung injection site. Now change site daily, also changed to a larger size needle.
