Lychees - Good, bad or ugly for us?

I'm type 2 and I bought a box of lychees the other day. They are very sweet and juicy. I was wondering if anyone knew about their suitability for us?

Are they in the same gang as bananas and mandarins i.e. ones we have to be careful of? Pray do tell!

According to Collins G.I bible -

75g fresh lychees

low G.I (green)
carbs 10.7g
fibre 0.5g
calories 44g
protein 0.7g
fat 0.7g

Again it's that old mantra - All you can do is try them and test afterwards to see the effect - personally I can't eat them without them affecting my BS - but I can eat a small banana as a snack or a mandarin after a main meal so we are all different - They sound delicious though PP! :D

Having no energy as this is so limiting.
The only thing is that it does not say whether the lychees are stoned or whole. :?

Test, test, test!

Usually when it says fresh I take it to mean in its fresh state - eg unpeeld with stones in - at least that way you are erring on the side of caution - I have had a quick look and against some of the fruit it says peeled so I think if they were peeled and stoned it would say.

I think you are right and would also agree that erring on the side of caution is the best approach. :)
