Lyxumia & vomiting?

Hello I'm type 2 and struggled with side effects of metformin as well as sr metformin so I've been put on lyxumia. I started on the 10mcg dose for two weeks and during that time the initial nausea subsided. I then increased my dose to 20mcg as instructed and I'm four weeks into this level of dosage but the nausea seems to getting worse, to the point where I'm actually being sick now. I have no stomach pain so no concerns about pancreatitis but wondered if I was still eating too many carbs and this is what's causing it or maybe I just can't tolerate it I was hoping after 4 weeks at this dose it'd have settled down by now. Any advice/experience much appreciated. Thanks X

I would suggest talking to your GP about this. My only comment would be that for many, both medication and diet are components of good glucose control. As you say, you may need to look at your diet as well as sorting out the side effect of your medication.

Take care
Doug

Thanks Doug yes I shall speak to my GP. Galja it's an injection (not insulin though) used to help lower blood sugars also known as lixisenatide. Have a Google, it has some good reports hence my determination to persevere x

As in risk of pancreatitis? Thanks for your reply by the way. I think it may have been down to too many carbs/bad choices on that particular day although the nausea is apparent for about four hours after injections all the time but I'd never actually been sick prior to this.
