Is there anyone else who's had a moment of madness and eaten all the wrong things and drunk a little too much? I've had one of those evenings and ignored all the rules and am now going to bed with a bg reading of 8. A bit too high, but not as terrible as I thought it would be. I know I have to climb back into the diabetic strait jacket tomorrow, but tonight was great.........:)

Those who let things relax a bit then back in the routine generally last out the longest ::))

Never the wrong things as I only eat food that I enjoy, having a drink is fine (in moderation) as long as your aware of the effects it has on your bg control, anyway have a good nights sleep June and hope your bg levels aren't too high in the morning:)

I'm the same as you June, carefully with what I eat only eating what don't spike me then one evening having a curry and 3 pints of larger causing a bs spike, I just try to keep the indulgence to a minimum.

Last time I tried nan instead of rice but still spiked, one day I'm going for a chinese instead and see how that goes, also wine instead of beer.

A little indulgence once in a while won't hurt. Pre bed reading of 8 isn't bad for some!

It's not ideal, but I'm not beating myself up about it. Hopefully no lasting damage has been done, but I did enjoy the freedom from the diabetic rules :)

I think we are like minded souls. We're good about sticking to the rules, but every now and again throw them out of the window. I find all the dos and donts hard to stick to and need a little indulgence now and again. There are many on this forum that seem to follow all the rules, all of the time, but I'm afraid I'm not one of them. Maybe in time, I'll find a diet that suits me and I won't crave a mad minute.:)
