Hi, can anyone advise me if I am ok to take Magnesium Glycinate? I have been T1 for 62 years. I have angina for 15 years.
Advice on the internet is confusing and contradictory.
I have been suffering with hot flushes for the past 20 years, I am many years post menopause.
Thank you.
I'm male, but take magnesium glycinate as a part of my electrolyte supplementation. I chose the glycinate salt of magnesium based upon both my own body and the recommendation from both Dr Jen Unwin and another doctor who works at the (Southport) GP practice of Dr David Unwin.
People who need no assistance for sleep and who tend to be constipated would probably do better on Magnesium Citrate (which is also cheaper)..
I’ve had a read around the internet & it seems that magnesium can be beneficial for many things including angina, the best advice is to speak to your doctor if you have any questions on supplements you can or cannot take, I sometimes find pharmacists more knowledgeable on this kind of thing. Have a read of this link below. I take a daily electrolyte that includes magnesium as sometimes I get a skippy heart because I do keto. I find the electrolytes I take keep this at bay
Thank you both so much, your answers are very affirmative and reassuring. Im going to chat to my local pharmacist as Im afraid I dont have much confidence in my GP! Sad but true. Thanks again.
