Since being diagnosed with T2 in March , I have lost 2 stone and my BG has stabilised. I have done this with the LCHF way of eating. This suits me very well. However if I continue to eat this way I will continue to lose weight, which is not necessary. How do I continue to keep good BG measurements and my weight remain the same?

Hello. I have never been overweight but I did have a spare tyre to lose . The LCHF diet worked very well for that, but then I started to lose too much weight, so I now eat a great deal of good fat -- eggs, cream, cheese, olive oil, butter and fat cuts of meat. My BG is stable, and my cholesterol is high but a lot of it is the "good" stuff. I'm not on statins or medication for diabetes and my latest HbA1C shows me as prediabetic. So maybe you could eat more fat if you can tolerate it.

For me, the stabilisation phase was much trickier than the blood reduction, with associated weight loss phase.

For me, initially, I just ate a little more of everything, but continuing to test rigorously. That wasn't enough, so I increased protein a bit more, but that still wasn't enough. Then I nudged up cheese, then nuts and eventually stabilised.

I'd say, take things steadily. Decide what you will change and change one thing at a time, then continue to measure (blood and weight) and if the changes aren't what you need (in either bloods or weight), tweak something else.

What is your BMI now? Are you in the healthy range, or just in a range you prefer to be in?
