Diagnosed T2 Diabetes at the start of the year - blood test in December was 48 mmol/mol. Blood pressure too high also. Consultation with the Diabetes nurse at my GP practice with advice on diet and alcohol. I started making changes, less carbs, cutting out sugar where possible, etc. Alcohol use was too high and finally stopped all alcohol in mid-March, apart from one weekend. Lost almost 3kg so far. Always done a fair amount of exercise but not combined with diet. Advised to do the 5:2 diet - had a stab at that, not easy keeping to 800 calories but they are certainly reduced calorie days. Latest blood test I was at 46 mmol/mol. Whether this is the start of a downward trend...?
