Making sense of hospital tests

Type of diabetes

So nearly 2 weeks after I was discharged from hospital I have my discharge letter.

The numbers mean nothing, can anyone help me understand them?

Capillary glucose 17.5 (ok I get this one!)
ALP 182
ALT 214
AST 262
CRP 25
Troponin negative
Urine test for ketones, 2+ glucose

No real idea but reading up on it after I read your post, they sound like liver tests.

you should make an appointment and talk to your Dr about the results, you need your history and current reason for hospitalisation and be trained to have any idea

are you UK or USA units of measurement [if they are different]
in general they are for ...
liver
ALP 182
ALT 214
AST 262

inflammation,
CRP 25

heart
Troponin...

UK, They did say I had a deranged liver, so that's explains that. Have had my ultrasound for that and they said I had a 'fatty liver' reading up on it that comes for excess carbs.

I was refused access to the consultant I was referred to! I have managed to wangle a visit to the diabetic nurse at the hospital on Monday morning. I will be kicking up a fuss that I was referred and refused an appointment! I was taken into hospital with a blood sugar of 32, most medical professionals seemed surprised I wasn't in a coma!

The absence of troponin is good. It means you haven't had a heart attack, even at a very slight cellular level. ( I had one of these tests back in the Summer.)

I have fatty liver too, and yes it's carbs that cause it.
