Management when sick

Hey, I was diagnosed with type 1 two and a half years ago. I am wondering when sick and the levels are rising at night, what is done to control them. Do you add more long acting insulin before bed for example? In the morning the last couple days I've been around 9.0. Thanks

When I have a cold or flu I test very often and correct as guided by the sick day rules for type 1 diabetics that @mahola has kindly provided a link to !!
