So, I went for my first Echocardiogram on Valentine's Day of all days! I have recently been told I have a heart murmur and the Dr that discovered this referred me for the scan. I was quite worried about going but it went fine and the female operator couldn't have been more lovely, talking me through what she was doing and relaxing me. Apparently my heart/pulse rate was nice and steady at around 64 bpm - I'm led to believe this is good, considering I'm definitely no athlete!!! I was also partially covered (on my top half) which was something I was also worried about. It was painless and didn't take that long. She told me I still had a murmur but she couldn't see anything more serious although the cardiologist has to look at the scan and images and write a report. The report and letter then gets sent to my Dr and I will also get sent a copy too. Hopefully, this will be within the next week or so and I've nothing to worry about!
