@Wady69 I started out with an A1c of 9.9% (84.7 mmol/mol I think) early last year. Last A1c was 5.4% (35.5 mmol/mol I think; not sure if I'm using the conversion calculator correctly). I accomplished this with the LCHF diet and walking alone, though I took some nutritional supplements too.

To medicate or not? That's a highly individual decision. If I took medication, I know I'd be naughty. But that's not true for others. Just me.

Congrats on your achievement [of an A1c] of 100 to 43 in 4 months. Impressive with or without medication!

You need to speak to your GP!
Your meds (januvia) are dragging your bloods too low.
Take action now to relieve the hypo by eating something!

If you have a blood glucose level of 5.0. To convert you multiply by 18 = 90
And the reverse is such.
So 43 is roughly 2.6!

@Galja US meters use are mg/dL; the rest of the world uses mmol/L.

The formula is

[mg/dL] divided by 18.05 equals [mmol/L]

or

[mmol/L] multiplied by 18.05 equals [mg/dL]

This is the chart I printed out. I use it daily here on the forum - (just don't click on any of the links unless you enjoy sales presentations )... http://www.diabetesinc.net/glucose-conversion-table/
