me

Hi @palind and welcome to the forum. Many people with type 1 and type 2 are married, lots of us have children and grandchildren too. There are women with type 1 diabetes who post on the forum throughout their pregnancies then let us know when baby has safely arrived. I am married for 46 yrs and have three sons. I,ll tag @daisy1 who will be along shortly to welcome you and give you some great information about diabetes. Take care.

i m 29 with t1 d for 25.5 years...can i marry????????

It would depend if you wanted to get married and if the other person wanted to get married as well ;) Best to ask your GP or DSN if you have any real concerns.

In this day and age people with diabetes are living into their 90's, so worry not, look after yourself and enjoy life :)

The future is what you make of it, there's people on this forum who have lived with type 1 for 50-60 years and live a normal happily married life, if you love her ask her to marry you :)

Yes ..do ask her to marry ... If she loves you then she loves you .. Diabetes included in that love. No ones future is guaranteed.. Enjoy living as much as you can .. Don't stress about what may be .. Deal with the maybes when then happen.. :)

Edit to add .. My wife married me knowing I had heart problems .. We had a few scary times with my heart attacks and open heart surgery .. But 19 years later we are still as happy together as we were on our wedding day.

Hi @palind

It is you & your girlfriend's choice to marry.. Not the diabetes. ;)

If you have found the right person to commit to? Then I wish you both sincere happiness..

Btw I have a good news for all the diabetics...who said we cant eat or drink sweet things??at hypos we are allowed take sweets with control...5 minutes ago,I got my hypo...I took 3 choklet..:)
