Medical Alert Jewellery

It's a snake and staff but why that was chosen I have no idea :?

The staff & serpent is actually a universal symbol for 'medical'. Not sure what the Diabetes one is.

Apparently the symbol for diabetes is a blue circle, which I have never seen elsewhere.

Rod of Asclepius ("staff & serpent") is the symbol of medicine. The Caduceus (staff and twin snakes, sometimes with wings) is somewhat frequently misused as the symbol for medicine.

Hi.
The usually 'red' coloured rod, snake and staff is well recognised by uk, america, europe as medical alerting information carried on a person with one or more medical conditions.
All paramedics are trained to look out for this when dealing with patients in an emergency situation.
A medic actually said to me they 'wished' more persons WORE these, as it would save medics precious time trying to
work out what is the problem with their newly arriving patients.
As a condition requiring treatment, their time can be saved in treating the specific illness more quickly and efficiently
with this vital visual awareness symbol.
Hope this helps?
Anna. :)
