Medical Exemption Issue!

Hi to all forum members!

I have type 2 diabetes and hold a medical exemption certificate. I have been prescribed Viagra before and to date the cost has been covered by my exemption certificate. The other day I went to pick up my repeat prescription and was handed a private prescription requesting £26 for Viagra. Is this right? I do not request Viagra every single month when due for my repeat prescription.

Are you certain thatr it was on a repeat prescription this time ?

Sometimes these things get removed without you knowing. If this was prescribed by your GP and was issued on an NHS prescription then it should not be on a Private Prescription.

You need to go back to the GP and ask why this has happened. It may just be a genuine mistake. Happens sometimes.
