I listened to a talk on the radio where this Consultant was worried by the amount of side effects that people were reporting to him whilst taking blood pressure medication.
He decided that as his blood pressure was slightly raised he would try some of the most reported tablets to see what he experienced. He did this over period of a year. He was horrified to find that he now understood what his patients were saying when they had a genuine concern and were feeling ill. He decided that it was necessary to tailor the drug to fit the patient as opposed to tailoring the patient to fit the drug as he had been doing.
It is a very personal thing as to who will get side effects and who will not.

Most of us have to take some form of medication but please do not suffer in silence. Alert your GP if you are getting side effects. This does not just apply to blood pressure medication.
