I was diagnosed with diabetes last week. I very rarely eat sweets/cakes, don't take sugar and only drink water or diet juice. I decided to try the low carb approach and my fasting BS has gradually gone down from 17.9 to 7.6. I'm taking 1 Gliclazide (80mg) in the morning and the same in the evening. This has probably helped reduce my BS. However, in the week I have gained 3lbs. I don't want to put weight on so would like to try low carb without the medication. Has anyone else tried this?
