My latest A1C was 5.1% / 32.2. At diagnosis I was 9.8% / 83.6.

My physician wants to discuss discontinuing the 5mg of Forxiga I'm taking daily (also on 1,000 mg metformin).

I'm a bit reluctant to come off it as I'm worried about how much I will rebound afterwards. Also I went backwards as far as weight goes and regained 20 lbs previously lost and only recently dropped 10 of that again. From what I understand Forxiga helps to maintain weight loss.

5.0 is the lowest reading I ever see on the meter so I'm not too concerned about hypos.

I know that this isn't the place for medical advice but wondering if anyone else has been though the same dilemma.

Take care everyone.

Forxiga can have serious and potentiallly life changing side effects, and I would not advise using it simply as a weight loss pill. At 5mg dose it is not very effective in the glucose lowering department either. Diet changes would be more than sufficient to keep you in control.
