Hi
I currently take daily
Metformin 3x850mg, gliclazide 4x80mg, vildagliptin 1x50mg, pioglitazone 1x45mg, dapagliflozin (forxiga) 1x10mg.
With the above and sensible diet and exercise I just about keep my blood sugars under control. However I'm not a great lover of taking too many pills and wondered if taking the pills is better than going onto insulin? Would appreciate any comments from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
Thanks
Brian

Hi @bre5,

You are on a lot of medication.
You say you eat a sensible diet and it would be interesting to know what you eat so could you let us know a typical menu for a day? We might be able to make some suggestions.
What are your blood sugars like and what was your last HBA1c?
Do you have any other health problems?
Do you need to lose any weight?

Thanks for reply
Eggs or 1 toast for breakfast
Plain full fat yoghurt with fruit and some oatcakes and cheese for lunch or sometimes brown rice with veg curry etc
Eve meal normally veg, protein and either brown rice or sweet potatoes.
Exercise about 3 hours per week either cycle or walk.
Also take blood pressure med, a statin and fluoxetine for depression.
Last H check was a bit high at around 9.
Doctor has mentioned insulin but keeps prescribing more pills (forxiga last time).
About 2 stone overweight .

Thanks
Brian
