"FASTING BLOOD GLUCOSE * .......................7.94 mmol/L ....................3.50 - 5.80
INSULIN ............................................................7.17 mIU/L .......................2.6 - 24.9 F
INSULIN RESISTANCE INDEX * .......................2.28 ...................................0.00 - 1.00"
Interesting that my fasting BG is significantly higher than I have been testing recently.
Normally under 6.
Also interesting that there is such a wide range of "normal" for insulin production, although I would expect to be lower than average because of LCHF.
The main message is that I do have a higher than normal Insulin Resistance so this is something I can attempt to address.
The next big question is "How?".
I also have to ponder the value of this test, and if it should be repeated, and if so how often.
It might be informative if I repeated it mid summer at the peak of my physical activity to see if that significantly reduces IR.
I also think that perhaps I should have a concerted push in January to get my weight below 11 stone 7 lbs and my waist measurement below 34".
I am certainly not fat free as I still have subcutaneous fat around my belly.
