Hi all, I’m on the Medtronic 670g and spend >95% in auto mode. I do really like the pump but have had issues with the Sensor 3 (and Enlite before that). Just thought I’d share tips on how to prevent bleeding and improve the sensor experience: 1) Must do: put pressure on the sensor after insertion and removal of the needle. This single-handedly has been a game changer. Put pressure for up to 3 mins. You know when you have a potential bleeder. 2) use ice to numb the site before insertion. The sensor insertion is like a harpoon. This helps a lot. 3) use Skin-Tac adhesive under the sensor to ensure it stays put. I also use antiperspirant before the skin tac to help with sweating during summer months and exercise. Make sure you wipe it into the skin and remove excess before putting the skin tac on. 4) I add Tegaderm film over the sensor and first tape to secure it even more. I just cut a hole in the film before removing the backing to allow the transmitter to connect to the sensor. 5) Don’t calibrate when your bloods are moving! Hope that helps. Please leave any other tips or tricks you all have.
