hi is it possible to delete individual readings from memory on bm machines. I am a nurse and have been taking blood sugars for residents who I care for yet they have gone from the memory.the blood sugars that the other nurses have taken are still there though. how is this possible?
Readings have been removed from a bm machine ( gluco nexusrx TD-4277) where I work which has made it appear that I have not done these even though I know that I have. This has led to me to be dismissed and unless i can prove that it is possible at the very least as the manufacturers state that these machines have a large non-deletable memory. As they can be connected to computers/smart phones via usb cables I am assuming that this method was used somehow in order to do this. I have had to buy a machine as I had been promised that my employers would get the ones in question checked but then didnt't. I have accessed the system and contrary to their claims it is indeed possible to delete the memory and I have done so successfully several times. However, I have only been able to delete all readings on the machine rather than individual ones as they have done.I know its possible because they have done it but could you possible suggest the method that they may have used please? I have only one last appeal in order to save my job and potentially for my career so this is extremely important . any help would be very much appreciated I completely understand that this could be dangerous for diabetes and I don't want to be responsible for anyone putting themselves but if anyone could send me a private message even just to point me in the right direction I would be so grateful thank you

It would help if you said what type of meter you are using - make and model.

Are you sure there's not more than one meter in use?

Just to be absolutely clear:
  • each resident has their own meter
  • a number of different nurses administer tests on individual residents using only that resident's meter
  • that meter retains the results of tests by other nurses but not the tests you administer
If this is so, it indicates that you are doing something different to the other nurses.

Probably best to team up with another nurse and check the procedures you both follow, and both check after each test that you can retrieve the reading.

Edit: had a quick look at the user manual and there is nothing in there to indicate that you can delete an individual reading from the meter. Have you used a computer to download the readings and check that all your readings are missing but all the others are there?

Edit 2: "
Deleting the Memory.
With “dEL” and a flashing “ M” symbol on the display, press M
button and select “No” to keep the results in memory then press
SET to skip.

To delete all the results, press M button and select “Yes” then
press SET to confirm. “OK” and “M” are displayed on the meter,
which indicates that all data stored is deleted.
"
However this states that ALL data stored in memory is deleted, not an individual reading.

you are indeed absolutely clear and both tests i performed this morning were on the memory just very few others. all of the other nurses results are retained in the memory for the last few months just not mine. At the risk of sounding entirely paranoid i know that I have been set up. I just dont know how they have managed to do it

Talk to the technical support team of the meter manufacturer.
