Has anyone experienced any problems with the SR prolonged version of Metabet? I've had huge digestive problems with the standard metformin and finally was doing OK for a couple of months after switching to Bolamyn SR. My new prescription however, I got the Metabet SR version and thought nothing of it as the "active ingredients" are exactly the same. However, within days was having problems with abdominal pain and diarrhoea which I wasn't having with the Bolamym. As soon as I stopped taking the Metabet the problems went away. I contacted the pharmacy and was told there shouldn't be a problem! however he agreed to exchange them for the Bolamym , but on collection mentioned that he probably can't always get that brand
he even asked me if I tried introducing them again after stopping them, why would I? After being diagnosed last November I've finally found a brand that agrees with me, so I'm not really prepared to put my body through that torture again. I really hope I don't have problems further down the line getting hold of the Bolamym brand. The active ingredients are exactly the same, but it's the other ingredients in the Metabet that's so much more and differs from the Bolamym
