dont know if it would be of use to anyone but i have an sd code free metebut no lanclet cause of hygene and bout 150 test strips if anyone wants the meter or the test strips just pm me your adress and ill send them to you
the only reason im getting rid of them is that unfortunatley been diagnosed with late onset type 1 diabeates and been given a meter and test strips know how expensive it is keep having gto buy them

Why don't you keep using them?
I have been given a meter by the hospital but I still use my SD Codefree as it gives me a chance to do intensive testing sometimes, say every hour if I want to monitor the precise rise and fall after food. I don't know how many tests my Doctors would deem right for a type 1 as they don't seem to know much about us so I don't want to get accused of wanting too many repeat prescriptions!
You may find your results are a bit unpredictable for a while too as the final throws of insulin production comes and goes....the identical meal 2 days running can give me very varying results at times it seems. I am 4 months into insulin after 18 months or so as a 'type 2' and no 2 days seem the same!!
Good luck
Angie

yes its crazy isnt it been on it two days have to take a bck ground one and a fast acting one at mo they have come down from 34.5 to 10 in the morn theyve told me to test every time i inject witch is roughly five hrs there avg 12 13 but its better than the 27 they have been just of a salad i will try and reign it in abit when get used to it all but its better than what it has been it seems to very though what your told about testing etc

Glad you are getting to grips with it. There is a lot of learning involved but the lower numbers are a reward when you get it right.
Your figures are looking much better, keep working at it.
I take my basal (background one) in the evening and I find it depends what time I take it has a bit of an effect as to how low I am next morning. If I take it about 11pm the figures don't go down much at all usually but if I take it early, say about 9pm, it can get quite low in the morning, so maybe experiment a bit with timings if you want to get a bit lower at certain times of the day.

Regards
Angie

I was wondering about the ibgstar and the test strips needed for them, could you use the wavesense jazz test strips for them? If anyone knows the answer to this it would be amazing.
