Metformin And Insulatard

hi

im on 2000mg metformin and 8 ui insulatard and my sugars are higher than normal in this heat wave and im not sure what to do I had my lunch early sandwich thin and bacon medallions and salad and a coffee I have just checked my bloods and they are 14.8 should I call my diabetic nurse please?
 
1. What are your readings normally?
2. Did you re-check; it's possible that the finger you tested had some residue on it?
3. If you are still concerned - Yes or ring 111.

Bear in mind that hot weather is known to raise blood glucose levels.
 
recently I had got them down to around 6 at this time of day I have just rechecked them and its gone to 12 so nearly double. this is the first hot spell I have had on insulin and on the higher dose of metformin
