Metformin and low blood sugars

 I have had Type 2 since 24-12-2009. Blood sugars between 6 and 8, tried diet only for 6 months but even though averaging 6-7 I was getting headaches so started onto slow releasing Metformin 500x2 daily. Bloods stayed stable but headaches stopped. Then I was put onto 800x2 daily earlier this year.
Ok now the problem starts ... Bloods were going low, feel dizzy and short of breath and a bit confused. Eating just tokeep bloods up, just not hungry - lost some weight but still got at least 2 stone to go. Bloods down to average of 4.2 to 5.5 and lower.
Dr reduced tablets back to 500x2. Bloods going a bit higher but still averaging 4.2 to 6.5.

Last week a different Dr told me to take only one 500 tablet a day. Bloods Rose a fraction. Hungry and thirsty all the time. Yesterdays readings were between 3.2 and 4. I am either very thirsty, starving or not interested in eating. Have not exercised for 3 weeks now as I can't raise my bloods high enough. When I do go out for a few hours I come back exhausted an need a nap. Luckily/unlucky work contracts and no work till September. At this rate will not be able to cope. On loads of other medication. They've been checked and should not cause problems except add to the tiardness. But then Drs keep telling me that you CANNOT have hypos on Metformin.

Hi kn8ght and welcome to the forum :) It is possible, but unusual, to get hypos with Metformin.
