I would be mindful of how you react with Gliclazide if you have just starting taking it. It is a med that works up to 12 hours, so long acting. Hence the hypo risks.
I took glic this summer and found it very strong for me personally. I started another med that is similar but shorter acting, up to 4 hours and was given a glass of bubbles for my birthday along with chocolate buscuits bites, couldn’t say no seemed rude, but I felt it and felt unwell the next day. I’d not been taking the med for more than couple weeks at the time. I’d feel more comfortable now with it as more used to how my body reacts on the med.
Do you have experience of a hypo? Have you had one and know the symptoms, feelings?
As you say, it’s a personal choice. It’s not fun if feel like can’t have anything you enjoy, be guided by how your levels are at the time, and have jelly babies ready if drop too low! ☺️

Read the title and almost said "Yes, please".

Best I can offer is "Drink to your meter".

Never had a hypo but will have meter and jelly babies to hand !
