Iv been on Glucophage pro longed release for 3 weeks now, iv just went back for my repeat and was given just normal metformin I was wondering if the change will effect my numbers ect...

@Naomi19536 - It shouldn't affect your blood sugar numbers - Metformin S/R just remains in your system longer.

It will make no difference at all, Glucophage is just a trade name Metformin Hydrochloride is the generic name for the drug and it is marketed under a range of different names but its all the same drug.

Glucophage XR or Glucophage SR are the slow release versions.
