Metformin question

I was taking 1,000 mg metformin twice a day, my doctor switched me to metformin ER 1,000 mg once a day is it the same dose? Do you only need to take the ER once a day?

does the ER work better?
 
ER metformin is EXTENDED RELEASE version of metformin. Or slow release to us laymen.

Same strength as regular metformin.
He may have reduced your dose if your experiencing side affects.

Are your bgs levels higher?

it was good yesterday but that was the first day I took it.

I called my pharmacist and he said 1 in the morning was the same as 2 regular for the day.

So is your ER 1000mg and standards were 500mg? Because I didn't know they do 1000mg standard. I thought most were 500mg?
There are slow release one that are 850mg one but not yours!

I was taking 1000 mg twice a day, now ER 1,000 once a day,
 
Hi. Max dose of SR/ER is 2000mg per day but it's the law of diminishing returns. Moving from 1000mg to 2000mg will only have a very small effect
