Metformin raises Blood Sugar

Why is it that if I forget to take Metformin at night, my levels are always lower the next morning.
 
Metformin is cumulative so missing one dose should have no real effect.
It isn't a tablet you take and expect an immediate response.
 
When you take your Metformin at night do you take it with food as recommended. if so it could be your food choice that's giving you the higher numbers.
