I am a Type 1 diabetic who takers Novorapid and Levemir.
I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid which rendered my Blood Sugars almost uncontrollable. I literally was increasing my Basal Insulin by 2 units every 2nd or 3rd day.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is that I have been put on twice daily regime of 500mcg Metformin. It has worked absolute wonders with rreducing my BS and insulin requirements ....
But, it seems to make me sweat absolute buckets. Literally I can be covered from head to toe in Sweat (especially across forehead and in my fringe). Has anyone else experienced this?! Is there an alternative to Metformin that might work along similar lines but might not present the same potential side effects.
