Does anyone else notice a hypo after eating carbs while on Metmorfin? It has been quite some time since I'm on it and I follow a really low carb diet and get a bit dizzy when i do eat a carb. Will this go away once the medication period is over?

Without testing you won’t know.

Can you clarify your diabetic status and any other medication please?

No, but it brings a sudden weakness
Weakness can be a sign of both high blood sugar and low. I wouldn't assume a hypo from just feeling weak, especially as you're on metformin only, which holds very little risk of hypo's.

If you feel off especially after eating carbs I would expect high bg sooner than low, but no way to know for sure without testing.

Hi,

I understand that you are probably worried about these dizzy spells. Are you testing your actual blood sugar levels. If your blood sugar levels are normal that may indicate that there is something else going on. If they are either high or low then the symptoms may be related to your blood sugar levels. I suggest that you speak to a doctor as the symptoms may not be related to your blood sugar levels and if you are not testing you won't know.

You may want to buy a meter and test regularly to see what your blood sugar levels are doing but if you are having dizzy spells let your doctor know so they can decide your treatment. Good luck

If metmorfin stops liver glucose release. And you are on a keto diet, and eat something that causes a large insulin release that would lower blood sugar. Wouldn't this lead to low blood sugar?
