I didnt think you got hypos with Metformin thats what I have read.
see above post. It's like a watermelon type fruit with bumps all over it. Found on most markets on asian veg stalls. An Asian friend of mine told me about them and he has type 2.I dont know what bitter groude is

they did a study on it and max dose 2000 is about one 500mg metformin and it really isn't cost efective or should be consumed in doses that have the same effect as a ~500mg metforminYou can also get it as capsules.
Bitter gourd is great cooked with lentils in a tomato and coconut sauce ...with lovely indian spices and fresh coriander ...
I just use tumeric and chilli with a little ginger and garlic ....
Also a great laxitive as a vegetable in its own right ....
Yes you can have hypos on metformin .....your diet is important to maintain balance .....
it is a nice meal ....don't dismiss it .....kat x
I don't get hypos eating bitter gourd ....If we get hypos using bitter gourd then it would be dangerous right ? Do we still consider eating it whilst on meteformin ?
