MiaoMiao and AppleWatch5

I’ve recently bought an AppleWatch5 to use with Freestyle Libre and MiaoMiao. I was using the Tomato app on my iPhone7 but it was draining the battery quickly. Do you know if I can use the watch directly with MiaoMiao, without having to keep an app (Tomato or otherwise) open on my phone?
 
Hi @Scotty2 I use Android and a TicWatch Pro which needs Xdrip+ to be running on my phone to be able to see the 5 min scans on my watch. As far as I am aware any watch will not work to scan the Libre (if that is what you are asking?)
 
I don't think that's possible. The app on the iPhone creates calendar events that contain the bg numbers and the Watch merely displays them. It's basically just a small client for the server on the phone. And without a server... :meh:
 
I just checked the standalone App Store in watchOS 6 and there were no search hits for MiaoMiao.
 
Thanks for all your helpful comments. I’ve now searched for Tomato (which is the MiaoMiao in-house app) and it appears there is a watch version available. However it sounds like there’s bugs and only receives 1.4 out of 5 in reviews. Perhaps too soon to use the standalone watch app until they fix the bugs, unless anyone can put my mind at ease?
