So my mom has diabetes and she had a fever and loose motion a few days back. Her blood and urine were tested during that fever. Her blood sugar levels are a little higher than the normal range but what I'm concerned about is the Microalbumin:Creatine Ratio. Her microalbumin is at 416.40 mg/L and her creatinine is at 208.20 mg/dL and the ratio is 200. I've come to know that the microalbumin level is very high and should be below 30. She is 62 years old, 5.3 ft, she's been losing weight and had bouts of vomiting. She has been taking diabetes medicine for many years now but she doesn't follow any strict diet. What should be our next step? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
