Hi - I've been T1 for 19years (diagnosed aged 26), my BS levels aren't too bad, last hbac1 was 8.3 which has gone up, so time to put a bit of work in to get that back down!

I'm on Levemir, Novorapid and also take asprin, simvastatin and lisinopril. Use a freestyle insulinx meter and bolus for carbs.

If you want to ask me anything just ask, if you want to chat to me then chat, and if you have any advice for me then just say it!

I also have a wife, daughter, dog, 3 cats and 8 hens and I work in IT.

Welcome Stu, nice to see ya,

What do you do to control your BG levels, are you moderating carb intake, or eating normally and injecting loads of insulin?

Does the dog chase the cat?
Does the cat chase the hens?
Do the hens lay many eggs?
Like you said, just asking!

( Nobody "works" in IT it's just pressing buttons all day. ;) )

Hi and welcome.

Have a read of the excellent info which @daisy1 provides for new members, might be some new info for you to consider.

@urbanracer I eat normally with a knife and fork! lol lets say my carb intake per day can not be labelled as low! although after scouting around this forum I'm looking at lowering that.

The dog and cats have pretty much grown up together so best of pals, and we all known pals do have the occasional bust up! If the cats got in with the chickens the chickens would win that one - you've no doubt heard the term 'hen pecked'!

And yes we have loads of eggs - 2 hens are quite old and rarely lay, but we average about 4-5 a day - in season, come winter I sometimes have to buy eggs from the supermarket and they are not the same.

And as for work, lol!

@SueB743 - thanks
