Mildly Annoying Moments as a Diabetic

As a newly diagnosed T1, when you've just finished cooking and got a delicious meal in front of you that you just want to stuff your face with ASAP but then remember d'oh! Gotta do that test and take that jab first.

When you tell someone that offers you sugar in your hot drink, that you’re diabetic and then they respond, so you don’t want sugar....

I think from now on I'll never mention to others that I am prediabetic, as their response to this is "oh so you're not a REAL diabetic then"

I guess this is true to a certain degree but I treat it as a warning + have decided to change my lifestyle to hopefully prevent T2. My mum + brother didn't hv this warning or this chance to turn things around.

If I get offered sugar in a drink, I just say “no thanks, I like to stay bitter” - never had an argument after that!
