Hey All,
I got an email recently from Medtronic to say they are discontinuing the MiniMed Mio sets (I currently use these). They recommend the MiniMed Mio Advance sets as a replacement. Does anybody use these sets? Are they simple to use? Would you recommend them or would you recommend other sets?
Thanks!
@sleepster I was also disappointed at the tubing lengths. However, I decided I would order the shorter length when putting the set on my front and the longer length on my back and buttocks. I checked with my DSN that this would be ok and she has put this in my ordering file.Hello, I use the Mio sets as well and got the email.
I like how it said your healthcare professionals will support you with deciding which infusion set is the best alternative for you. Seems unlikely, but ok
I'm a bit disappointed that the Advance tubing lengths are 60 or 110cm as I use the 80cm Mio sets.
Anyway thanks for asking about this @Nicola M, I was going to but then got distracted
I've now been using the Mio Advance for a while, they are a lot easier to apply that the Mios (I had to use the Mio's for a while as there were having issues getting the Advances manufactured at some point)
With the Advance, you peel of the sticky stuff cover, place against where you want it, press the top/button (the button can be fiddly til you get used to it - kinda needs two pushes) and its attached, then just attach the tubing and you're done.

That's interesting, I've always just ordered whatever length I wanted@sleepster I was also disappointed at the tubing lengths. Thank you, that's much appreciated@sleepster buttocks are fine, as long as you steer clear of the parts you sit on. Very occasionally a site on my back hurts, but that's the same on my front. The only thing I would say is to stay away from the spine area and use more fatty parts.
