Type 2 Missing a couple of doses Metformin for a day?

I am going to a family wedding tomorrow. This is my first 'going out' since diagnosis 11 weeks ago. I have the usual issues with Metformin although I seem to go for days without problems. The last few days have not been good and I am wondering if I just took the morning one plus
the Gliclazide and missed the mid day and evening Metformin would there be any problem?

I have seen it suggested (in some forum posts) that metformin 'reactions' are worse when too many carbs are eaten.

Since I don't take Metformin, and have never had the gut issues, I have NO IDEA if there is any truth in this at all.

If anyone can confirm it (or deny it!) it might help your food choices and sense of security on the day. :)

I have on occasion missed a couple of doses of met on my GPs suggestion - not for social purposes but when I had a tummy bug - my GPs advice was missing it for a couple of days as long as I was careful with my diet (whatever that means?) wouldn't affect my bs too much. Also I once went away for a weekend and didn't take enough of my metformin with me. Went to a pharmacy who could give me an emergency supply but would take 24hrs - as I was going back home the next day I didn't bother and it didn't seem to make a difference but I was strict food wise.

Not telling you that it's ok to do it - no one can or should do that, just giving my experience so you can make a decision - enjoy your day - to be honest life will always throw these things at us we have to decide how we are going to manage it - you can take Imodium with met and glic but check with the pharmacist if you do this just to be sure it doesn't contradict with anything else.

@Brunneria has a point about some foods - it's not necessarily carbs with me as I haven't really over eaten on carbs so can't comment on that.but I find alcohol can be a trigger for me - and too many mushrooms or scrambled eggs in the morning!!??
