Hi could someone shed some light on novomix 30/70 please.
My daughter 19 autism diagnosed t1 3mths ago has been commenced on this insulin twice daily.
What ive observed with it is in order to keep her sugar levels stable strict carb counting is required...which is what im doing a hard task ...just saying..
This insulin as it is given in set does morning and night if we go out anywhere and its impossible to get exact carb measurements for what she is eating she obviously she runs the risk of increasing her blood sugars which i dont want and secondly having to further reduce carb count for the rest of the day in order to get levels down to an acceptable range.
i was advised by my diabetic nurse to use 2u of novorapid xmas day and that worked well. Then back to strict carb counting after xmas day resumed.
My question is ...can novorapid be used if i know there is an up coming event birthday special outing to combat these issues.
I know a lot of you may say its not the best insulin to be using but she is non verbal and relies on me to check sugars and give injections so the specialist felt novomix was the best option seeing i will be going to start work in a month and there is no one to besides me to administer the injections..
