Hi, glad you've managed to get a meter and hopefully a repeat prescription for test strips.
I have thrown out my cornflakes as the send my sugar levels sky high. Is the 1.3 your showing a typo and you meant it was 13.0 as if 1.3 that's very low and would need action.
I don't eat peanut butter and have no experience on what carbs it has, what sort of toast are you having white or wholemeal? I am having all sorts of trouble with bread at the moment, anything made with white floor is out o the question now and even have problems with some granary bread.
Now you have the meter, if you have enough strips, its worth testing for a short while at least what your BS levels are when you get up (fasting level before breakfast), then pre meal, and 2 hours after meals and before bed. Making a note of what you are eating, so you can build up a pattern of which foods cause the problems.
Unfortunately the same food does not effect us in the same way, bananas for me have little effect on my BS, while with others it can send their BS sky high.
