hi all
now i'm using mixtard 30 100u/1ml
but i'm confused about insulin syringes
there are two types
40u and 100u
what type should i use
and if use the 40u type should i take less units or the same
thanks ahead

Gosh, I haven't heard of 40u insulin for decades!

As you are using 100u/ml insulin, you should use 100u syringes.

You wouldn't be able to give an accurate insulin dose if you used the 40u syringe

Are you sure they are just not the small sized syringes? Still u100 but only 40 unit size?
u100 insulin should ALWAYS be given in u100 syringe

If you have to use 100u/ml syringes with 40u/ml insulin then you have to apply a multiplier.

So, if you are using 40u/ml insulin with a 100u/ml syringe, you'd have the correct dose.

@xAoifex sometimes there isn't a choice but to use mixed syringes and insulins. I have been in that position in the past.

two types have same size exactly

I appreciate that, I'm a bit concerned that Bassiette's profile says he's a pharmacist and he couldn't work out wether to take "less or the same" though! u100 syringes are fairly universal
