I was just wondering is dere many people out dere on mixtard 30 insulin????
I'm a type 1 who takes it twice daily.
My control isn't great (last HBa1c 11.8) but my consultant said come back in 6 months and we'll see.
I have diabetes for 14 years now and this is the only insulin i've been on. I never knew much about my condition only the basics because i had a very bad support system in the hospital i used to attend.

Is dere anyone out there that has had a similar expierence???

Very new to type 1, but on Mixtard too, seem to be getting good support at the moment though!.

No bad side affects yet but ill let you know!

it's very difficult to get good control on mixed insulin, and it appaears not to suit you as you HbA1c is very high. For better control I would advise you to ask about going onot basal bolus insulin. This would mean taking one (generally) injection of long acting insulin, and then an injection of fast acting insulin every time you eat. It's more injections but the doses you give are more suited to need and match the amount of carbohydrate in your meals. it will give you flexibility and freedom.
