Mobile Web App Ideas

Hi, I'm doing a software development course. One of our assignments is to build an android mobile web app that is to visually aid in the counting of carbs found in food and maybe alcoholic beveridges. I'm also supposed to implement some kind of log-in and chat functionality between users of the app. My question is what would you like to see in an app like this? This can be features that could make the app easy to use such as a night mode, simple navigation ideas and displaying the information in a simple and helpful manner but all ideas are helpful.

Something which I've just thought of would be a cloud database of food items which would grow with input from all the app users. There would need to be some way to police the food entries to make sure they were accurate though...

What better way to expand a database than have the users of the app do it for you

An option to send the amount of carbs identified straight to NightScout along with the time that they were consumed.
