Seen on the news today that there could be a hand held molecular scanner on the market soon, with the technology available in smart phones is about 5 years, looking at what they can do, it would be a great tool for Diabetics, the ability to scan a food (or anything you want to scan) and get the sugars, carbs and any other info you need from it, I a touch of a button, not mush use for pre packaged foods but once open you can test it for accuracy against the label!
seen on Sky News today if you know how to track the storey down. I can see many many uses for such a tool.

At $249 it's not outrageously priced, although $35 for the cotton T-shirt might be excessive. LOL

Very interesting, the prices mentioned will not be deducted from your credit/debit card until shipping commences, which is hopefully not too far off.

Well spotted zacthedog and piilchap1.

trouble is as new to this diabetes I have no idea yet how the results would be put to use, glad I can help with finding this, if you watch the report, he test a Viagra tablet as it is the most counterfeited tablet, as I said before this could be one of the greatest benefits to mankind!

I hope that no-one who is T1 relies on it. It only gives you grams of sugar and not total carbohydrate, which would result in under dosing as a T1. It might not be too useful as a T2 either as you might be eating something that contains a lot of carbs but fewer sugars.
