Monitor readings driving me crazy

I am type 2, metformin, victoza 1.2ml . Last Hba1c was 9.9, previous was 7.8, previous to that before starting Victoza was 10.9. My recent one was due to a move from USA to UK with all the travel/airport,inflight food involved in that.
I have started using a blood sugar monitor a week ago. My results have been terrible. Even though I am trying my hardest. I read everything I eat and stick to the rules, but the good results I get give me no clue to assume I have done something right.
Anyone out there been in this whirling pit of despair?

Hi. Can you let us know some of the typical meals and foods you have. It sounds like your are really trying but perhaps we can suggest some additional foods to consider?

Hi Tamber

Don't despair. I'm having a little run of bad readings myself and I know it can get you down. I think the problem with testing is that eventually one realises that there are very few rules that you can actually rely upon. Apart from some of the really obvious ones.

I have just had readings way way apart for the exact same meal....... last week I was 6.2 post prandial - this week, 9.8. There are so many reasons why results vary, including dehydration, impending illness, exercise or lack of it etc etc.

All I can say is, trust your good results. Stick at making a record of everything and eventually you will have some knowledge of what works for you.

But nothing is ever certain!!!!
